Wipe out waste!

Welcome

Upcycling workshop update!

For the upcycling workshop event, I will show attendants how to make  a “Milk jug lunchbox” and “Plastic bottle flower vase”. Right now, I am organizing and planning to get the materials I will need for these upcycling projects.

If you don’t know what upcycling means, here it is. Upcycling is when you make recyclable products into another product instead of putting it in the recycling bin. This is more effective than recycling if you are planning to help the environment and reduce waste because when you recycle something, it will be reused but it will need to be recycled again so it will degrade and become unusable at one point but with upcycling, you can make something new of your own so it can be continued to be used instead of having it be recycled until it degrades down.

Here are some photos of  milk jug lunch-boxes and plastic bottle flower vases.

Permission from principal to run waste management event at Windermere granted!

To run the waste management project at the school, I have emailed the school principal a proposal to run the waste management event with three semi-events-a pledge event for people to sign to reduce waste, an upcycling art workshop and a documentary screening. I have got an reply from the principal approving of the project, meaning that I can make it happen now! Step one completed!
